Data stored on your device

KOOCOOLS stores groups, routines, schedules, goals, reminder rules, record values and the activity log, statistics preferences, and widget display settings in a local SQLite database on your device.

The app does not provide account registration, login, first-party cloud synchronization, advertising, behavior analytics, tracking, or Health platform integration.

On Android, KOOCOOLS turns off the operating system’s automatic backup, so the app database, the widget snapshot, and scheduled notifications are not copied to a Google account. The app itself transmits your records nowhere: the only time it sends them off the device is when you run an export or a share yourself.

The statements in this policy about an operating system’s automatic backup were verified on Android. How an operating-system backup on iOS handles app data has not been fully verified, so this policy does not describe it yet; the policy is updated before any iOS release.

Widgets and notifications

If you add a widget, your home screen may show a routine name, today’s value and unit, goal status or value, attention state, completion state, recorded state, and which control the row gets — check, stepper, or open the app. App-only shared storage also includes technical values needed to update the widget, such as a routine identifier, local date, increment and minimum values, and the next due time.

Reminder notifications are scheduled locally. A notification shows the routine name as its title and the due time in its body. It does not include the recorded value or goal value.

Backup and sharing

A backup is created only when you choose to export one. It is a readable UTF-8 JSON file containing groups, routines and record-field setup; schedule and goal versions, exceptions and pause periods; reminder rules and statistics or widget display settings; and daily records, rows, values and the activity log.

Backups do not include the following. Platform notification IDs and the scheduling-window notice are rebuilt on the device after a restore. App settings such as language, the confirmed Plus purchase status, downloaded news and which items you have read stay as they are on the device you restore to. A running timer, the note that a plan was sent to the calendar app, and the record of shared routines you added are cleared by a restore. After the share sheet is opened, KOOCOOLS does not retain another copy. A file saved or shared outside the app is handled under the rules of the destination you choose.

When you change devices or reinstall the app, a backup file you created yourself is the guaranteed way to carry earlier records over. Without one, records from the previous installation cannot be restored.

Sharing a routine setup happens only when you choose routines under Share routine setup and tap “Share” or “Copy JSON”. The app then hands a readable JSON text to the share sheet or the clipboard. It carries the names of the chosen routines and their groups, record fields and units, icons and colors, and schedule, goal and reminder settings. It does not carry records, activity entries, costs, notes, start or plan dates, notification permissions or scheduled notifications, widget or statistics settings, or archived or paused status. Check names and units for personal information before you send it. KOOCOOLS does not send the text anywhere itself and keeps no copy; once shared, it is handled under the rules of the app or person you give it to.

Add shared routines reads only text you paste, or text it pastes from the clipboard when you tap “Paste from clipboard”. It adds the routines as new ones starting today, does not change your existing routines or records, and does not keep the pasted text. Phone notifications for the added routines stay off unless you turn them on while adding, and the routines are not added to a widget on their own.

Adding an activity’s next plan to the device calendar happens only when you tap “Add to calendar”. At that moment the activity name and the planned date and time are handed to the device’s calendar app; costs, notes and entries are not. KOOCOOLS does not read your calendar. On Android and on iOS 17 or later it uses no calendar permission; on iOS 16 and earlier it requests calendar access only when opening the event screen. An event saved in the calendar app follows the rules of that app and its account, and does not change automatically when the plan changes in KOOCOOLS.

Purchases

KOOCOOLS sells Plus, which removes the limit on how many routines can be active at once, as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time purchase. To check whether you have Plus, the app contacts the store — the App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android — and RevenueCat, the payment provider that verifies store receipts. It does so when you open or return to the app, when the Plus screen loads its products, and when you buy or restore a purchase. Recording a routine, scheduling reminders, updating a widget, and making a backup do not use the network.

The store and RevenueCat process the products you bought and your purchase history, the store receipt or purchase token, a random identifier created by RevenueCat that is not linked to your name or email address, and technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and when the app last checked. The only value KOOCOOLS itself passes along is the identifier of the product you choose; the rest is produced by the store and RevenueCat. KOOCOOLS does not give RevenueCat a user ID, an email address, or any other attribute about you, and does not turn on RevenueCat’s advertising or analytics integrations.

They do not receive routine names, group names, recorded values, goals, schedules, or reminder settings. Your routine records do not leave the device to check a purchase.

Payment details such as card numbers are entered in the store’s own payment screen and never pass through KOOCOOLS. So that Plus keeps working offline, the app keeps the last confirmed purchase status on the device — which product, when it ends, and when it was confirmed. That status is an app setting, so it is not included in backups.

On Android, once you have bought something, RevenueCat’s software also saves its random identifier to Google Block Store on the device. If the device’s Google backup is turned on, that identifier goes into your Google Account backup, so that a reinstall is recognized as the same purchaser. KOOCOOLS cannot turn this off, and no routine records go with it.

Apple and Google handle purchase data under their own privacy policies. RevenueCat, Inc. processes it on the operator’s behalf, only to confirm purchases and keep Plus working. Deleting the app does not delete these records. To have the record held by RevenueCat deleted, contact the operator; records held by a store follow that store’s procedures. The operator can see purchase records in RevenueCat only under the random identifier, not under your name or email address.

RevenueCat stores this data on Amazon Web Services in the United States, so it is transferred there over an encrypted connection each time the app checks a purchase, including when you have never bought anything. It is kept until the operator stops using RevenueCat or you ask for it to be deleted. If you do not want it transferred, use the app without a network connection: KOOCOOLS keeps working, but Plus cannot be bought, restored, or confirmed. RevenueCat’s privacy contact is compliance@revenuecat.com.

News

KOOCOOLS shows notices, update news and event information under News in Settings. To get them, the app downloads one list from the official website (https://koocools.com/notices/feed.json) when you open or return to the app, at most once every six hours, and when you refresh News. Everyone receives the same list. Which items you see is decided on your device from the app version and the device type; the request carries no identifier, no routine name or record, and nothing about which items you have read.

Like any internet request, the download carries your IP address and the information your device and operating system attach to a request, such as the operating-system version. The website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes that information to deliver and protect the site under its own privacy policy. The operator does not turn on access logs or analytics for the website and does not collect that information.

The downloaded list and which items you have read stay on your device and are not included in backups. If the list cannot be downloaded, recording, reminders, widgets and backups keep working. If you do not want the request made, use the app without a network connection; News then shows what was last downloaded, or nothing.

Deletion and retention

Deleting a routine removes its related local app data. Deleting the app removes the data the app stored on the device, and because automatic backup is turned off on Android, reinstalling the app does not bring earlier records back.

Backup files that you previously saved or shared outside KOOCOOLS are separate files and are not deleted automatically. Remove them from their destination if you no longer need them.

Health information

KOOCOOLS is a personal routine-recording tool, not a medical service. It does not diagnose, assess, or determine whether a health-related value is good or bad.

Operator and contact

KOOCOOLS is developed and operated by Minkoo Yoon, an individual developer. No business address or telephone number is published, because none is registered for this app.

Questions about this policy, and requests about the data KOOCOOLS keeps on your device, go to info.koocools@gmail.com. Because there is no account and no server that receives your records, the operator holds no copy of them. Beyond how the app behaves on your own device, the operator can see only the purchase records described under Purchases.

Effective date and changes

This policy takes effect on 2026-09-06. It is the first version, so there is no earlier revision to compare it with.

Material changes are published on this page together with the new effective date and the date of the revision. If a future release adds crash reporting, analytics, or synchronization, or changes what is sent to check a purchase, this policy and the store declarations are updated before that release.
